Enhanced patient demographics

As part of seeking 2015 Edition EHR Certification, Practice Fusion is also introducing several demographic updates in the Profile tab of the patient chart.

Practice members now have the ability to enter a prefix, suffix, and previous name when completing patient demographics. Additionally, Unknown is now an available option when selecting a patient’s sex. By default, the Date of death, Preferred Name, and Previous name fields will be hidden, but you can opt to include these fields for particular patients using the new Add more information button. _ _

Uknown Sex Preferred Name

We have also added more granular options for race and ethnicity according to the OMB Standards for Maintaining, Collecting, and Presenting Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity that are required to achieve 2015 Edition EHR Certification. Practice members can choose from an expanded list of ethnicities and the patient’s race will automatically be selected based on one or more chosen ethnicities. You may also manually select the patient’s race or indicate that the patient declined to specify. Learn more about entering patient demographics»
