Ryan Howard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Howard is Practice Fusion’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. With an extensive product management, engineering and marketing background, Mr. Howard’s technology approach to electronic health record topics and practice management drives the rapid business growth. Previously a Senior Director of Product Management and Professional Services for Grand Central Communications, Saqqara Systems and InterTrade Systems, Mr. Howard has brought over a dozen SaaS-based products to market. He also worked with Brown and Toland Medical Group San Francisco, performing extensive HIPAA implementations, and is a former Board Member of the Haight Ashbury Clinics. Mr. Howard is an expert on healthcare IT, integration, SaaS software and EHR technology.
Glenn Laffel, MD, PhD - Vice President, Clinical Affairs
A physician and leader in the application of medical technology, Dr. Laffel has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector. He serves as Practice Fusion’s Senior Vice President of Clinical Affairs. He was an attending physician in the heart transplantation program at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which is affiliated with Harvard Medical School, earned a PhD in Health Policy and Management from MIT, and has been a successful entrepreneur in the health information technology industry. Dr. Laffel is an expert on medical technology strategies, quality of care and health policy.
Robert Rowley, MD - Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Rowley is a family practice physician and Practice Fusion’s Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Rowley has a first-hand perspective on the technology needs and challenges faced by healthcare practitioners from his 30 year career in the sector, including experience as a Medical Director with Hill Physicians Medical Group and as a developer of the early EMR system Medical ChartWizard. His family practice in Hayward, CA has functioned without paper charts since 2002. Dr. Rowley is an expert on EHR usability, HITECH meaningful use and issues concerning health care delivery in a coordinated setting.
Matthew Douglass - Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Douglass is Practice Fusion's Vice President of Engineering and is responsible for architecture, management, implementation and maintenance of all data, products, platforms and applications. He has over ten years of experience creating and expanding scalable applications for large businesses in the energy and financial investment sectors. Immediately prior to joining Practice Fusion, Mr. Douglass was responsible for architecting and implementing internal application development at Fisher Investments, working to automate and streamline a myriad of business functions.
