Coming Soon: Mobile Lite EMR for iPhones and Androids

Practice Fusion recently previewed a prototype of a native mobile EHR application for mobile devices. The iOS and Android applications will function as mobile medical offices: giving you secure access to patient charts, lab results, refill requests and messaging on the go. The application is currently in development and private beta testing. To receive updates on the launch of this application visit our Facebook page.

Coming Soon: An Innovative iPad Electronic Medical Record Solution

Practice Fusion also recently announced a partnership with Cooper, the country’s top usability design firm, to develop a native iPad application for the EMR. With an intuitive touchscreen and dictation-driven workflow, the app is being specifically designed to streamline your notes in the exam room. We are carefully crafting something entirely new specifically for tablet use instead of simply creating an iPad version of the current EMR.

Mobile Device Recommendations

Practice Fusion has tested numerous other tablet devices for usability and HIPAA-compliance. The LogMeIn and iPad combination is still our top recommendation. The Dell Streak tablet does work, although you’ll encounter small screen issues. We do not recommend the Motorola Xoom or Nook. We are also currently testing the Asus tablet and Blackberry Playbook based on user recommendations. For the latest updates from our hardware lab, stay tuned to our Practice Fusion Facebook page.
