Ryan is the founder, chairman and CEO of Practice Fusion. He founded the company in 2005 and has grown it into the largest physician-patient community in the US. Serving over 80 million patients, the platform connects doctors, pharmacies, labs, and imaging centers to solve healthcare’s biggest challenges. Under Ryan’s leadership, the company has raised $134 million in capital from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Orbimed Advisors, Deerfield Management Company, Artis Ventures, Founders Fund, Felicis Ventures and Band of Angels to fuel its rapid growth.
Ryan has spoken on health technology and innovation at Microsoft, Stanford, UC Berkeley, HIMSS, SDForum and Commonwealth Club events and has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Wired as an innovative leader in th+e sector. He has been recognized as one of the Top 40 under 40 by the San Francisco Business Times, Silicon Valley 100 by Business Insider and was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

As Practice Fusion’s technology co-founder, Matt created the SaaS technology framework that enables rapid development of the electronic health record’s nationwide platform, now used daily by over 100,000 medical professionals. He has spoken on healthcare technology at SDForum, Health 2.0, MIT, Stanford, and Microsoft events.

Jonathan leads Practice Fusion’s technology strategy, ensuring IT architecture remains scalable and reliable while pursuing new directions in areas such as mobile connectivity and API integration. Before joining Practice Fusion, Jonathan oversaw IT architecture as Chief Architect and Director of Research of the Associated Press, which handles billions of transactions monthly, and assisted its move towards a greater digital presence. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of California, Davis.

Todd is responsible for Practice Fusion’s business development, customer and partner success and legal teams. He is helping Practice Fusion’s considerable growth by bringing together technology, standards and people amid a highly evolved healthcare IT marketplace. A seasoned business development and technology executive, Todd brings more than 20 years of experience from startups and large public companies alike, including the Associated Press. His experience ranges across sales, product management, software development, consulting and product enablement. Todd holds a degree in Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Robert leads the finance, accounting, human resources and facilities teams at Practice Fusion. Robert has over 20 years of experience, with the last 15 years in finance executive positions. Prior to joining Practice Fusion, he was the vice president of finance at Chegg, Inc., the leading student-first connected learning platform. Before that, Robert was the vice president of finance for PayPal, where he led the finance and accounting teams through a period of high growth and international expansion. He also spent seven years in finance executive positions at McKesson, both in the healthcare information technology division and at corporate headquarters. Robert started his career at Ernst & Young in San Jose, California. Robert holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and is a certified public accountant (inactive).

Paula leads Practice Fusion’s Customer Success organization and drives our platform adoption and utilization strategy. As one of Practice Fusion’s earliest employees, Paula built our phenomenal customer-facing teams, who have secured our #1 EHR ranking in customer satisfaction for three consecutive years. Paula leverages over 14 years of experience bringing together technology and a delightful customer experience in both startups and large public companies.

Jim leads the Engineering organization at Practice Fusion, enabling world-class engineers to build life-saving products for providers, patients, and partners. He is also responsible for recruiting top-notch talent to extend Practice Fusion’s iterative, continuous improvement culture into end-to-end software delivery. Jim previously led engineering teams at Tellme, a Microsoft speech recognition subsidiary, architecting service solutions for Fortune 100 clients and internal Microsoft partners alike. Jim holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Ryan leads the corporate communications team for Practice Fusion. Prior to joining Practice Fusion, he spearheaded the technology and innovation communications effort for Visa Inc., for three years. Before that, Ryan led corporate marketing for SanDisk, the world’s leading flash memory brand. He also spent five years at HP in many roles, most notably running corporate media relations through more than 8 M&A transactions and serving as lead spokesperson during the board pretexting scandal. Ryan holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Iowa.

Zach leads Practice Fusion’s advertising strategy. A key function in the company’s innovative free business model, advertising allows Practice Fusion to deliver EHR technology for free to any doctor in the US. Zach previously served as Vice President of Media Sales at Coupons.com, where he tripled advertising revenue, and as Sales Director at Yahoo!, where he oversaw $100 million in annual revenue. He also brings extensive online and offline advertising sales experience to the team from past work at Claria, Doubleclick and Infinity Broadcasting. Zach is a graduate of Hamilton College.

John is responsible for Practice Fusion’s Technical Operations team, including datacenter and infrastructure support of Practice Fusion’s EHR and corporate IT functions. John draws on over fourteen years in technology and leadership experience, most recently from the Consumer division of security company McAfee, where his team supported a billion dollar ecommerce engine servicing 40 million customers. He holds an MBA with focus on strategic leadership from Norwich University.

Riyad oversees legal operations at Practice Fusion. Riyad has over a decade’s experience managing legal affairs and advising senior executives on strategic and operational objectives. Prior to Practice Fusion, Riyad was VP/Principal Legal Officer for NewsRight, where he oversaw legal operations, and Associate General Counsel of Business Governance for the Associated Press, where he counseled on sales, technology, corporate, privacy, IP, strategic transactions and product matters, including the launch and maintenance of large-scale web platforms. Riyad holds a JD from Stanford Law School and a BA from the University of Southern California.

Kamran leads Practice Fusion’s Program Management and Product Marketing. He ensures the company encompasses strong execution and synthesis across all products. Kamran previously worked as Sr. Director of Program Management at Microsoft and assisted the company’s move toward Natural User Interface on mobile platforms, online commerce, as well as Kinect products. In addition, Kamran founded a software company focused on design and delivery of business applications. Kamran has a degree in atomic and molecular physics, and has contributed to 16 international and U.S. patents.
