How do I upload a PDF to my chart notes?...

I have a PDF that I would like to use as a chart note, or even a template. Can I upload that into my patients notes for a visit?

Practice Fusion expert answer:

At this time, you will not be able to upload a PDF and use it as a chart note/template. However, other users have requested this and you can add your voice to the request here http://www.practicefusion.com/emr-forum/request-specialty-templates/scan-in-documents-to-use-as-templates/A.EHR/4633

Uploading the patient's previous chart notes in the MS Word format will be fine for the purpose of storing the files. However, you should not that these documents won't be viewable directly within Practice Fusion - you will need to select the Download action to save the file to your computer, then open the file in Microsoft Word.

If you are looking to qualify for Meaningful Use incentives and the patient's chart note was created during your reporting period in the .doc (Word) format, you will want to convert the note to a Practice Fusion SOAP note in order for the Meaningful Use Dashboard to calculate properly.

I currently have my notes in Word Files; Is it okay to bring those documents into Practice Fusion, or do I need to create a note and back date it through practice fusion's notes?

Please let us scan directly as an acquire function. That would save a lot of time.
