The Power Behind Personal Health Data

For years now, Wired Magazine and  Executive Editor Thomas Goetz, have been studying the power behind  health data. With his newly released book, The Decision Tree, Goetz discusses how improving healthcare begins with making better decisions and the role data can play in the decisions you make. Many companies have popped up out of the woodwork such as 23 and Me and 100 Plus (a sister company powered by de-identified Practice Fusion EMR data), encouraging people to use their data to take better care of themselves before its too late.

In the video below Thomas Goetz sits down with O’Reilly Media’s Alex Howard at this year’s Web 2.0 Summit, to discuss how we can use data to make people more aware of where they stand in their health.
