Technology Hiring Hits 4-Year High

The IT sector is growing rapidly thanks in part to the American Recovery Reinvestment Act which has created a high demand for more tech folks to join us and dip their feet into the health IT pool. According to a recent report by Wanted Analytics, IT hiring has been increasing throughout the first half of 2011, up 56 percent since January. Employers and staffing agencies posted more than 200,000 new online job ads for IT pros in June alone, with a 1.7 percent increase from May.

Computer System Analysts have the greatest overall demand for hire and Database Architects, Computer and Information Scientists and Network systems Analysts showed the highest growth since 2010 (See chart below for the in-demand job positions).

Technology Hiring Hits 4 Year High

The tech job demand hit major metro cities all across the country, including Practice Fusion’s hometown, San Francisco, which saw a 28 percent increase with over nine thousand job positions appearing throughout the Bay Area. Cloud computing was listed among 1,300 job postings with a 300 percent jump in demand in early 2011. Practice Fusion has definitely added to the tech demand, hiring new employees every week. We’ve seen a huge percentage in company growth. We went from a team of four in 2007 to almost 100 employees in 2011.

We’re expecting to reach 150 by the end of year and you could be a part of this exciting and fast-paced movement. Looking for a career in health IT? Check out our open job positions today and be a part of the EHR revolution.
