Today kicks off the annual week-long celebration of nurses day. In my opinion a week really isn’t enough to celebrate a nurse or nurse practitioner and thank them for their dedication. When I think about the last time I was in a hospital, I can only remember how great the nurses were. How they were by my side at the push of a button. Late nights, no sleep, and patient after patient, they made me feel like I was their priority. Now, don’t get me wrong, I think all medical providers are amazing, but it seems that too often we think about doctors and less about nurses. It’s only fair that we celebrate them all week long!
Here at Practice Fusion, we have tons of amazing nurses. Nurses who take their dogs with them to house-calls, nurses who have helped Katrina victims and 21st century nurses whose latest accessory to their scrubs outfit is an iPad. Today we have two videos for you, one shows a funny side of the nursing world (this is what late hours at the hospital will do to a nurse!) and a profile of a Practice Fusion Nurse Practitioner who travels across New York City to provide top-notch care. Enjoy and when you get a chance, thank a nurse!
Nurse Practitioner, Raymond Zakhari, makes quite an appearance when he visits his patients during his house calls, bringing along his trusty side-kick Ziggy.
For a little comic relief, check out this video by the nurses of the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Get your nursing on!
