Practice Fusion EHR: 2010 Year in Review

Practice Fusion EHR: 2010 Year in Review
Whew! What a year it has been for the Practice Fusion team and our user community. So many accomplishments and milestones have been reached within such a short amount of time. How many companies do you know that went from a one-man band (Ryan Howard) in a garage to a company with 50 plus employees who serve 6 million patients, in just three years?
You know that old saying “the best things in life are free”? Well it’s finally come true for doctors. Practice Fusion frees your practice from those costly client-server systems. The days of monthly maintenance and expensive training are over, that is, if you’re using us.
2010 was such a whirlwind of adventures; let’s review the milestones:
Jan: Free e-prescribing launched. We now have over 60,000 pharmacies nationwide, ready to serve your patients’ medication needs.
March: We launched our Certified Consultant Network of over 300 consultants, who provide on-the-ground training to practices nationwide.
June: We hooked up with one of the nation’s top health IT providers, Dell, to offer you a computer bundle you can’t refuse!
July: Our Research Division went live, providing testing ground for those ready to tackle some of the healthcare sector’s most pressing issues like obesity and adverse drug effects.
August:  We announced our API/ Health 2.0 Developer Challenge to which the O’Reiley Radar said, “ is creating a sandbox for third-party developers to test the API functionality on its platform”.
Oct: One of our biggest months! We become ONC-ATCB certified as an EHR module and partnered with Microsoft Windows Azure DataMarket to help researchers provide answers to improve public care.
Nov: This month was personally, my favorite! We held our first-ever user conference, Practice Fusion Connect, where we revealed our 5-million-patient milestone (we have since reached 6 million patients).
Dec: We definitely ended the year with a big bang. We kicked off our second Healthcare Developer Challenge, Analyze This!, with Microsoft and gave our EHR a little face lift, adding a EHR Assistant Bar as well as well as tons of other enhancements throughout the EHR.
To say this year has been successful is quite the understatement. I feel lucky just to be a part of it and to be amongst those who make this company so successful. New Year’s resolution? Double every number. Okay, scratch that, maybe triple every number!
